Clove has a very strong aromatic and intensive fragrance. It is cultivated in Indonesia, India and Madagascar. During the middle ages clove was the source of richness for Arabs. In 17th century cloves were as valuable as gold due to high price. It has a wide range of culinary use. Famous Worchestershire sauce is dominated by clove aroma.
In China it is traditionally used to treat indigestion, diarrhea and fungal infections. Today dentists use clove oil as an anesthetic. With its antioxidant & antiparasitic properties it is also used to treat acne, chapped skins and sores. Clove also has an aphrodisiac affect.
