Strawberry is in digenous to both northern and southern hemispheres. It was cultivated in ancient Rome. In 19th century, strawberry was started to sold in marketplaces and became popular in England and France. Because of it is red color and heart shape, strawberry is seen the symbol of Venus. Romans believed that it relieves melancholy. During medieval times, it symbolised perfection. It was a noble fantasy to have a bath in the juice of fresh strawberry during Napoleon era.
Strawberry is rich in Vitamin C, potassium and has antioxidant effect. It has smoothing, re-hydrating and moisturising effect. It is used to get rid of pimples and spots from face.
